Yankee Group today announced that Mayor Tom Menino joined over 4,000 WiMAX World USA attendees in Boston to share his vision for they citys municipal WiFi project. In his opening remarks on the second day of the conference, October 11, Menino spoke about Bostons unique approach to its city-wide wireless, municipal broadband initiative positioning Boston as a model city for municipal WiFi deployments. Menino, members of his Wireless Task Force and the citys CIO Bill Oates attended the conference to gain knowledge and insight into new WiMAX developments. Menino believes that new wireless technologies will help make
Boston more efficienthave access to the world.
